Retail rooms vary more than the word “store” suggests. An apparel shop, a home store, and a small service counter with a locked case are different soils and different risks. Retail cleaning services start with the floor plan you describe: where guests walk, where product must not be touched, and where a back room is in or out. If the space is a restaurant that happens to sell goods at the host stand, use restaurant cleaning for the dining room and an agreed kitchen. If the building is a larger commercial program with an office upstairs, commercial cleaning can hold both, with the shop written as its own lines so a clothing rack is not treated like a desk.
Sales floor after close
The visit starts when customers are gone and staff have finished the close they still own. Registers are not our count. We do not open a drawer, and we do not “straighten” cash wraps by stacking receipts into a new pile. Floors are vacuumed or dust-mopped and then washed for the material: sealed concrete, tile, vinyl, or wood. A rug in an entry is vacuumed in place unless you have a different plan. We work around fixtures. If a table is on casters and you have said it may roll, it can move and return to the mark you set. If you have not said that, it stays. Pins, tags, and hangers on the floor are picked up and left in the place you name, not discarded as trash when they might be stock.
Dust on clear shelves, ledges, and the tops of low fixtures is ordinary when those surfaces are empty enough to dust. Product is not removed from a shelf so the shelf can be wiped, unless you assigned that reset. Glass vitrines are cleaned on the outside when they are unlocked or when you have said the outside is enough. We do not climb into a window display. Mannequins are dusted only if the scope says so, and clothing on them is not removed. Mirrors on the floor are cleaned from a standing position. High glass and a transom that needs a ladder beyond ordinary reach belong with window cleaning, with the height named before the night. See floor cleaning when a stone entry or a worn vinyl lane is the main complaint.

Fitting rooms and restrooms
Fitting rooms collect a different kind of mess: tags on the bench, a mirror that was a touch screen for fingerprints, and a floor that hides pins. Retail cleaning services include those rooms when you list them. Benches and mirrors are wiped. Floors are cleaned. Garments left by customers are gathered to the rack or the hook you specify so they are not treated as trash and not folded into a new display. We do not decide a return. Hooks, the door handle, and the latch are touch points worth doing every night because they are what the next customer takes hold of. A room used for stock, with boxes floor to ceiling, is a stockroom. It is in scope only when you say the path and the floor are to be cleaned, not the cartons.
Restrooms are part of a standard shop scope when the store has them. Fixtures, partitions, mirrors, floors, and dispensers are the work. Paper and soap are replaced from your stock when that task is written in. A restroom that also serves a café inside the shop needs the food-service limit stated: we clean the guest restroom, and we do not become the kitchen crew. Employee bathrooms follow the same fixture list. Break rooms are included only as a named room: table, sink, floor, and the exterior of a microwave. Food in a refrigerator is not discarded. Trash goes to the dumpster or the service hall you assign. We do not flatten boxes for a recycling vendor unless baling or breakdown is an agreed task with a clear place to leave the cardboard.
After-close list
This is the usual shop scope. Add the stockroom path or the café seating only if you mean them. Leave off any reset your own visual team still owns. A cleaner should not be the person who decides where a new collection sits.
- Sales-floor hard surfaces and carpets vacuumed or mopped around fixtures that stay put.
- Entry glass, interior mirrors, and vitrine exteriors reached from the floor.
- Fitting rooms: mirrors, benches, handles, and floors, with left-behind garments moved to your designated hook.
- Restrooms cleaned and dispensers filled from your supplies when restocking is listed.
- Touch points at the door, the cash wrap exterior, and fitting-room latches.
- Trash removed to the service area you name, without counting a register or opening a safe.
- A break room only when it is named: tables, sink, floor, microwave exterior.
- Pins, tags, and hangers on the floor gathered to the spot you choose.
- Displays, mannequin outfits, and window stories left as the staff set them.
If a delivery blocks the entry on a given night, call during desk hours. The crew can clean the rooms that are open and note the bay that was not. Inventing a new path through a stock pile is how product gets scuffed. The written scope is the path.
Questions
Only when the scope says a specific piece may move, and then it goes back to the mark you set. Retail cleaning services are built around the floor you already merchandised. We do not slide a fixture to vacuum behind it and leave it three inches off. We do not undress mannequins, rebuild a window, or fold a table into a new color story. Garments on the floor in a fitting room go to the hook or rack you name. They are not trashed and they are not returned to a size run by guesswork. If your visual team wants a zone cleared before we arrive, that clear is their task before the cleaning hour. Tell us about fixtures on casters that are allowed to roll. Silence means they stay where we found them.
Fitting rooms include the mirror, the bench or stool, the door hardware, and the floor, plus pins and tags gathered from the ground. Left clothing goes to your designated spot. Restrooms include fixtures, partitions, mirrors, floors, and dispensers restocked from your supplies when that line is on the scope. We do not repair a broken hook or a running toilet. We note it. If the restroom is shared with another tenant, say whose cleaner is responsible and where the door is. A single-user restroom off the sales floor is ordinary. A mall restroom in the common corridor is usually the mall’s, and it stays off your store list unless a manager has written it in. Paper goods are yours. We do not buy a night’s worth of towels out of pocket and add a vague charge later.
A stockroom is included only as a path and a floor you have named. We do not restack boxes, pull garments to wipe a shelf, or reorganize a back room that is mid-inventory. If the room is too full to walk, we skip it and note the skip. Window displays are cleaned at the glass we can reach from the sales floor or the sidewalk, within the height limit. We do not step into the display, move props, or change lighting. Retail cleaning services leave the story you set. Exterior glass above a safe reach, and any work that needs a lift, is a different scope. Interior vitrine glass is wiped on the outside. Locked cases stay locked. If you want the inside of a case cleaned, a manager has to open it and stay with the product or give a written instruction that names who is responsible for the contents.
